Amongst all the crap, however, the Super Bowl this year did give us this.

That was indeed awesome. As was the MOH winner in the End Zone, got a standing ovation from the crowd.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

Although I know it's simply an oversight for ease of typing and posting (Rod, I know you already recognize such distinctions and such, but not everyone else does - I simply want to clarify the issue - Mike), we all know that award is NOT something you WIN - as it's presented to those who've gone so far above and beyond what most normal people would do to be TRULY EXTRAORDINARY and perform in such a manner that reflects the greatest credit upon themselves and their branch of service to such a degree as to be warranted by recognition of Congress - and hence the rest of the United States.

I'm sure there are many stories floating around about MOH recipients, and if you have one with personal contact, please feel free to share it as they are people just like the rest of us.

Ben Roethlisberger has a shitty personal rep, but I've been a Steelers fan since I watched them win the 1980 bowl game. I may even still have my "1 for the thumb in 81!" shirt around somewhere.

This would have been win #7.. Mean Joe Greene still has 4 more fingers to put gold on.

Meh I watched a little of it. At least it wasn't a curb stomp. Those are the most boring games to watch.
Years from now our children and grandchildren living in a 3rd world America will ask "What were you doing on March 21st 2010 and why didn't you stop it?"

I was busy watching hockey. (I hate winter, but love ice hockey. Go figure.) Neither my Dad nor I wanted to see this year's rendition of the national anthem and neither the commercials nor the game nor the halftime crapstravaganza really said it was worth switching over from repeats of Saturday night's NHL games. After two nights of lousy renditions of the national anthem at my local juniors hockey games, I wasn't ready for a third.
