Well, the score at half time is: Green Bay: 21, Steelers: 10.

So far the only commercial that actually had me laughing was the Snickers commercial where Roseanne gets knocked down by a tree trunk. Still won't eat a snickers, but good commercial

The Doritos commercial with the pug charging the glass door got a chuckle out of me - I was waiting for it to smash into the glass door, like that's how it got that smooshed-in face to begin with (with the girl friend/wife telling him to hot hurt her dog), but it didn't smash its face into the door.Rustyv wrote:So far the only commercial that actually had me laughing was the Snickers commercial where Roseanne gets knocked down by a tree trunk. It was dumb, but I chuckled anyway thinking about the different ways they could have taken that theme with the glass door and a dog charging it.

Agreed. But neither is it the proper vehicle for demonstrating to the entire world one's alleged vocal talents, or the appalling lack thereof.Lokidude wrote: Interpret Conway Twitty? Heresy!
Also, I had it drilled into my head as a band geek (by my USAF EOD band director) that "We won the war. The Star Spangled Banner is NOT a funeral dirge."
Besides, I grew up in the South, and sometimes Conway needs some interpreting!

The McDonalds bears were pretty funny.
And the NFL really needs to stop letting anyone except classically trained singers anywhere near the National Anthem. Hell, hold auditions and highlight some local talent.

Many years ago, I was selling stuff door-to-door. Some rich-folks' pit bull came barrelling full-bore down the foyer, tried to hit the brakes and failed on what must have been freshly-polished marble.
He hit the glass at about 30mph - shattering it - tucked tail and ran, squealing like I'd shot him or something.
Needless to say, the "lady of the house" was not in any way amused, nor were the nice officers she called to report my attempt to break in her house/assault of her poor dog.

Ah, yes... Good times, good times...

I agree, I liked the reference using the car like tipping the bag to get the last fry out.Mike OTDP wrote:The McDonalds bears were pretty funny.
I wonder how long it's going to take before some schulb decides to complain about feeding wild animals human food or thinking its even okay to make light of a very serious problem.

At least it's only a week to NASCAR, when I can hear the Anthem done properly roughly 90% of the time.First Shirt wrote:Agreed. You can "interpret" something by Dylan, or Pearl Jam, or Conway Twitty. The National Anthem should be done as written. //end rant//
She didn't mangle it, she downright murdered it. I hope that all the shots of the players shedding a tear were from that, but sadly I doubt it.

I have to agree w. my pregame analysis.
Won a nickel on the straight and I'm glad I didn't bet the under.
Good game!
