Am I the only one who wonders what Sammy was up to at the beginning of that skit?

Some, or all, of this humour may not translate into the Yankinese language. But knowing you lot, it probably will
Just being nostalgic for an era and culture I wasn't around in - the George Burns and Gracie Allen radio show. I discovered this when I downloaded some sound packs for a submarine simulator called Silent Hunter 4 ( so I could listen to authentic broadcasts while 'on patrol' ).
There were all kinds of 1940's US radio shows included, but that one I really enjoyed, the humour is way ahead of it's time - they have a talking pet duck called Herman and make fun of the soap company which sponsors them.
All my life I been in the dog house
I guess that just where I belong
That just the way the dice roll
Do my dog house song
I remember seeing George Burns on Johnny Carson's show, they were talking about Bob Hope turning 85. Burns quipped, "Hell, when I was 85, I caught gonorrhea!"
I never really got Benny Hill. Maybe I was the wrong age at the time, a little too young.
It never gets repeated on UK TV ( I'm guessing because of political correctness issues )
