And I thought it was just my local Wal-Mart that never has enough people working the register. I find this strangely comforting. Misery loves company, I guess. Also, Wally-World puts the money they save by never having enough cashiers into security cameras.

There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

It's the Wal Mart business model:
1 - Sell crappy products at a higher mark up than you can decent products so you can destroy local business and pump money out of the economy simultaneously.
2 - Install an impressive-looking row of check registers, but never staff above 10% capacity for cashiers.
3 - Corny commercials.

Walmart's cameras for their parking lot suck big time. They don't have enough resolution to ID perps.Cybrludite wrote:Also, Wally-World puts the money they save by never having enough cashiers into security cameras.

Re: Coworker Shot Sunday
I'm bumping this as a sort of update. Our guy is 100% recovered and has been for some time. Apparently one of the bullets just barely missed the femoral artery so he did get pretty lucky. I managed to get a hold of a new vest and now carry a tourniquet and compression bandage on my belt, to the amusement of some of my fellow employees. The robber has been caught and charged with this and several other of our robberies. Oh and the shooting was apparently deliberate so I hope this guy enjoys being bubbas bitch in pound me in the ass prison.
Just as an aside one of our guys got shot in Atlanta 5 or 6 times on Friday but survived with comparatively minor injuries thanks to his vest. The year is starting out rather hot and looks at though it may stay that way.

Glad they caught the scumbag.
Armored car services are dangerous. I've always said they could make it safer by driving non armored trucks, with Pepsi, or some other logo on the side and take the cash out in boxes of soda.
Uber stealth money movement.

Years from now our children and grandchildren living in a 3rd world America will ask "What were you doing on March 21st 2010 and why didn't you stop it?"

That is a very good idea, Moose. Unfortunately Coke or Pepsi might take a dim view of trade infringement.moose42 wrote:I've always said they could make it safer by driving non armored trucks, with Pepsi, or some other logo on the side and take the cash out in boxes of soda.Uber stealth money movement.
