SOCAL here I come

Post by Rumpshot »

You read it right. I will make a sojourn into SOCAL. This time just for a weekend.

Off to Rendezvous near Santa Ysabel (between Ramona and Julian) in San Diego County. Laguna Mountain Rendezvous. Info here: http://www.homestead.com/laguna_mntn/. There are links to the flyer and maps on the website.

We will be there Fri-Sun Oct 10-12. Spending Thursday night near Ocotillo Wells.

If you come out to the Rendezvous, look me up. Just ask for Rumpshot. I will be set up on Trader's Row selling books out of my store, Downwind Press.

You also get another chance at Thanksgiving time. We will be at our property 2 miles south of Ocotillo Wells near the Anza-Borrego Off Road Park. More details when I get that trip firmed up. Tentative plans are to be there the Friday before Thanksgiving to the Sunday after. Visitors welcome.

That weeekend is my boss's wife's surprise birthday party. I'll have to see if I can make it up on Sunday, and drag my wife along with me since we're not so sure we'll make it to the rendezvous.

The lower UV ratings are promising, but I need to get some work done on the RV, and we're still a one-income couple/family.

Rumpshot, that's a terrible link to almost no information without digging around. And how do you SHUT OFF THE MUSIC??? Also, I couldn't find any fliers to the event next weekend.

If you have any, could you please either post them yourself or email them to me?

Any additional info would be appreciated and I'm sure Kimberly would love to see you sometime next weekend after my boss's wife's birthday (on Saturday).

Sorry about the poor link. Actually good link, bad webdesign. Click on the oval photo in the middle of the page.

Here is a link to the front page of the flyer: http://laguna_mntn.homestead.com/files/LAGUNA_FLYER1.jpg

Second page: http://laguna_mntn.homestead.com/files/LAGUNA_FLYER2.jpg

Actually the rendezvous runs 2-11 Oct. We will be there 10-11. 12th will be tear down starting early. We will be there til about noon on the 12th. Another benefit to coming on Sunday morning is there should be no gate fee. There won't be a lot to see on Sunday, no shooting, most folks will no longer be dressed for the event.

Would sure like to see you and Kimberly and any others from the area that could stop by.

Another suggestion. I will be spending Friday and Saturday evening with friends in Ramona. I might be willing to do some travel to get together with folks. Email me if you have a suggestion... for a get together that is. :D

Rumpshot,
I couldn't make the time to do rendezvous this time, but I'm going to try to come out on Friday or Saturday for a few minutes to say hi.

Great Tom. Hope to see you and some others there.

Sunday the gates will be "closed" to the public. If (and that is a big if) someone challenges you, tell them you are coming to see me. Friday and Saturday the Rendezvous should be in full swing.

That depends on the Santa Ana's or other winds and wild fires.

Do they (at the gate) know you by Rumpshot or would we have to use your name?

OT - Tom, we missed you at last night's meeting. There's a sign outside that large room that few of us noticed before last night. We find it quite fitting for holding our NRA meeting in the room with this sign outside of it.

Was on the phone w/ Rumpshot about an hour ago. He was north of El Centro headed toward Ocotillo. I'm trying to keep part of Saturday clear for a run up to Santa Ysabel.

Tom & Blackeagle603 made the trip to check things out. Enjoyed visiting with both. Wish I had more time to chat. Grandson arrived in the middle of Blackeagle's visit and terminated that availability.

Glad to have meet you Blackeagle and will see you on the firing line one of these days.

Tom hope to see you at RRIII.

For the rest of you limp wristed folk out there. Ya shoulda made the trip or made arrangements to visit in Ramona.

There is the outside possibility that I will be in Ocotillo Wells the weekend of the 1 & 2 Nov. Course that could get in the way of being ready for RRIII.

There is an almost certanty that I will be in Ocotillo Wells from 22-29 Nov. If you are willing to make a trip to the Anza-Borrego desert to visit, email me for further info. If you have my cell phone, it works there! I will have chilled adult beverages available.
