I wonder if the county sheriff is aware of how Ms. Thang is using his department's resources by using herself & two other of his officers to hassle and berate the tax paying & voting citizens of his county with no regard to how this will make him look come re-election time?

I am working 60ish hours a week plus 10 hours of commute and ... well you get the point. I did make a follow up call to the call center apologist. I have not taken / had the time to speak with a higher up on this matter. Perhaps I will right before Christmas.Cybrludite wrote:I wonder if the county sheriff is aware of how Ms. Thang is using his department's resources by using herself & two other of his officers to hassle and berate the tax paying & voting citizens of his county with no regard to how this will make him look come re-election time?

+1000 on the Sub2k. Mine's in .40, the Sig 226 version. FTR, the 226 mags will work just fine in a 229 though the converse is not true.
As for baggage, I've used a couple of things.
A cheap plastic toolbox works very well and is inconspicuous behind the seat of the truck. Add a combo padlock for CYA...
An old-school laptop bag - the "square" semi-rigid kind with all the various velcro dividers? The "loop" interior makes it real easy to use hook-tape to position your stuff as needed...
The blue "Citrix" geek-pack I got at the last Con I attended was also perfect, and left plenty of room for my LT and other gear.
Most recently, my "rolling" LT bag also served very well on our last weekend getaway!
Essentially, the Sub2k will fit in anything that can handle its 16x~8x~3 folded package. I usually attach a single-point bungee sling, just because. Another option I considered was making my own sling from webbing and incorporating a pocket on the strap just enough to catch the first inch or so of a 30-round mag. Tuck open-end into the little pocket, and add a bit of velcro tape to secure the upper end and your reloads are now part of your sling. It would be trivial to put 2 (60 rounds) on a single-point and still leave plenty of sling for slinging while also securing your reloads...

Re: Covert rifle carry
I like the idea of a violin case. I wear business atire 6 days a week and work in an urban area. I was thinking something like this for my new AR. It doesn't look much like a violin case, but I like the staps/carry handle and outside pocket.
Also... any idea what you would call a bag like that if it didn't carry a violin? I was thinking it would be better to have a 24"-26" version and pack the upper and lower seperately. 30"+ is long for any kind of case/pack to be carried around comfortably.

I think that's where a bullpup or folding stock type rifle would shine vs an AR.

If you get that case you could either embroider or stencil on some musical notes or a G-clef on the outside. That would make it look more like a musical instrument. I think that a trumpet case might get you into that 24-26" range.Durham68 wrote:I like the idea of a violin case. I wear business atire 6 days a week and work in an urban area. I've seen a few pix of KelTec SU-16s packed neatly into a violin case. I'm looking for a used case for my 16C.CombatController wrote:I think that's where a bullpup or folding stock type rifle would shine vs an AR.

Thanks for the trumpet recommendation. 22x9 is a bit too tight for my upper, even if I foam it in diagonally. It's half the price of the violin case though, so I think you've got me on the right track.JAG2955 wrote: If you get that case you could either embroider or stencil on some musical notes or a G-clef on the outside. I just looked out my office window and realized there is a violin/bass shop in my complex. I am dropping by after work.

Ukulele case looks just about right at 26".
