Covert rifle carry

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Covert rifle carry

Post by Combat Controller »

I want one of these for non permissive rifle carry,or this for an actual long gun. I have decided to send in paperwork for an SBR in the near future and the small Sneaky Bag looks good for that. The shooting at UT yesterday reinforced my point to my friends and coworkers why I always carry a gun, like they, or I, needed it. But a rifle is better than a pistol and a set of armor with an AR pistol/SBR is a good start for an OhShit! Kit. I know I have lots of goodies in the car, but if I wanted to, I could sling the bag and be prepped for trouble until I could exfil.

Thoughts? I will post a review when I settle on something, like a violin case or something but you guys ideas are always very welcome.

More here. With a little more thought on the matter.

Might be a little difficult in SoCal - need a cooler climate and a less restrictive state government (not full of dhimmicraps).

Obviously, the guitar case isn't too bad a choice - aside from being overly-large, and still looking like it contains something valuable.

I use a "tac force" bag which works well - still looks a bit tactical, and the rifle has to be carried broken down - unless you're getting a swing-stocked Sig, or something done.

I think it was US calvary had a very discreet looking bag - can't remember, had a woman shooting "terrorists" in a video for it. Might have been Cav Arms...

What about modifying a gym bag? Maybe just a bag to hold your SBR - if you are going w. a folded stock - and some kind of mag holder.

A baseball bag might allow you to carry the SBR in a more ready to fire condition.

That might work. I came across this, and I like it. Myself while wandering around, don't need a "battle bag" I have those but they are a bit... Overt. I need to be able to carry a rifle around with me when I am feeling froggy. Like right now, shootings almost always come in threes so the shoe will drop somewhere, sometime.

Toolbox I saw once, but is not too easy to lug around, the covert bag NPR linked to though has some merits.

Here is another guys thoughts on the matter.

I would prefer really covert over semi but semi over TUBAR.

Hmmm. More from the covert civilian on bag theory for those interested.
