AR sling advice PLEASE!

Thanks. While I see the obvious benefits over a MagPul version, which upon examination from myself did display the same obvious shortcomings as the video pointed out, how did the genesis of it's design come about?

I still am curious as to needing to overcome the issue of the strap around the buffer tube. The fellow in the video had an adapter already installed so that was not a problem for him obviously. I have tried a similar set up, or just had a strap go in the wrong place and it greatly interfered with charging the weapon.

Make your own. Hit the law enforcement tab and there is a kit for the AR, I think it has metal hardware, if not metal is available on the site.

When you ask, "how did the genesis of it's design come about?" are you referring to the IAS or the Magpul sling?

Yes, the reviewer had a Magpul ASAP plate to connect a sling to which is a great system. We recommend either that or one like it (Daniel Defense, etc) to connect the IAS to your weapon. As I stated before the included fabric sling mount is simply something that allows the weapon to be used with the sling as soon as it arrives. It will work for most people but if you are taking the weapon into Combat, we would highly suggest a rigid point.

The Fabric sling mount is thin enough that it does not rise over the overall diameter of the castle nut on the buffer tube. The only complication would be if the buckle on the buffer tube were to rotate to the 12 o'clock position and come into contact with the charging handle. We recommend that if you are using the fabric buffertube sling mount to put a dab of superglue between the fabric and the buffertube in certain locations to keep the fabric from rotating. Instructions are included with the IAS.

But again I must stress. A rigid mounting point is ideal and recommended.

Otherwise, thanks. I will get one and try it out. If I like it I can always replace the plastic buckle. I'll run it at a few carbine and three gun matches and see how it holds up. I'm always looking at new gear.
