Handle enough fresh fruit, esp. peaches, and you're skin will become quite raw.

I figured citrus would have that issue, but wasn't too sure about peaches. Tanks for the info!Aglifter wrote:Handle enough fresh fruit, esp. peaches, and you're skin will become quite raw.

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Dutch oven peach cobbler a la moderandy wrote:Mmmmmmmm.......Peach Cobbler.......
Start your coals
Open two large cans of sliced peaches in heavy syrup, and cut the peach slices in half
Prepare two boxes of yellow cake batter according to the directions on the box, except use the heavy syrup from the cans in place of the water
Mix the peaches into the cake batter and pour the mixture into the dutch oven
Toss one large box of brown sugar into the dutch oven, but don't stir it around too much
Cut two sticks of butter in half, and drop the four half-sticks into the dutch oven on top of the mixture. Just let them rest on top.
Cook like you would any other dutch oven recipe, but watch for burning on the bottom. Scoop with a big spoon, and top with vanilla bean ice cream.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

I prefer Black Berry Cobbler, thank you very much (although I must admit the Peach Cobbler described above also sounds VERY good)!
And using a Dutch Oven no less!! YUMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! They're even better when you're camping and don't expect it!

Sounds like what we used in Scout camp, except we used Bisquick instead of cake mix.workinwifdakids wrote:

We also alternated with cans of cherry and apple pie filling.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
