Help w. shooting glasses

I have a set of Zeiss shooting glasses in gray, which I'm quite happy with. I would like to get another set, in red, and maybe a 3rd in light yellow. They are coated on both sides of the lens, so there's no glare, but they do not cover the eye very well.

I bought a set of Rudys, but the lenses appear distorted, so I'm returning them. They were comfortable, and had better protection, however. (I'm considering exchanging them first, but I don't know that I'll be happy w. less than the clarity of my Zeiss ones.)

Has anyone used Decot? Any other suggestions? For whatever reason, distortions really bother me, so I tend to be pretty picky about what type of glasses I wear.

I wear prescription eye and sunglasses from Oakley. I love them. My sunglasses double as my shooting glasses.

I have a set of Randolf Rangers that are excellent.

Wiley X and Rudy Project are supposed to be good and I've wanted a pair of Decot Hy Wylds but no one local carries them.

I've had a couple of different pairs of the ones Orvis sells under their own label and are excellent the Max Orange HiDefSpex Shooting Glasses I use for clays and hunting.

Can you get them for high prescriptions? I've been checking around their site, but it seems that they only offer prescription in low strengths? (+4 and below) I've heard great things about them though, everyone that has Oakley loves them.

The price was great, and the lenses are of excellent quality. The frame is very thin, but with earprotection on they feel sturdy. I have no complaints at all except the lack of protection from the sides, and I'm not sure how much real protection the glasses offer if something would hit them hard, even if they are polycarbonate. So I'm looking around for something else, but with high prescriptions the prices are high and choices limited. The best ones I've seen so far is the Rudy Project Exception, but the cost for getting them with high prescriptions has kept me from it.

39 Dollar Galsses lists safety glasses with side-shields for $69 available from -12 to +8. Tint is an extra $20, Polarized or photchromic is $90 extra.

I'd say check out Pyramex for their eyewear - these are the same guys who make the NRA shooting glasses which have reading (magnifying) lower portion of their lenses. Except the ones directly from the manufacturer are a LOT less without the NRA inscription (probably less than 1/2 the price).

Granted, not all these are going to make the standards for shooting glasses (with eye coverage, fragment protection, side penetration, etc., etc.), but it just goes to show you some of the stuff they have available.

My Rudy Project geneteks are the ones I sent back. The design's good, but the lenses were too distorted for me - it might be a manufacturing defect - anyone can have one - but they gave me a headache.
