I don't recall one that was threadjacked by it's own poster, but I do remember one where someone (don't remember who) asked about shooting minis (mini-shotshells), and the very first response (CC?) was asking why he wanted to shoot mini coopers. That then developed into discussions about shooting cars with various implements of destruction.workinwifdakids wrote:Does anyone remember the record threadjack? I don't own any guns quite that old (didn't have the $5000 asking price for the Schofield I saw today), but I have a couple guns that I'd wager are older than any members on this forum.HTRN wrote:Some of us even have guns older than any living human being.308Mike wrote:As I'm sure you're aware, MANY of us shoot older firearms, some of which are older than the shooters are

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

You are not likely to get any takers for that wager on this forum.Lokidude wrote:I don't own any guns quite that old (didn't have the $5000 asking price for the Schofield I saw today), but I have a couple guns that I'd wager are older than any members on this forum.

Well, my 1903 Colt was made in 1913. I dunno exact birth date on my 1891 Argentine, but it's about the same time frame. There's a serious jazz I get shooting guns made before my grandparents were born.cu74 wrote:You are not likely to get any takers for that wager on this forum.Lokidude wrote:I don't own any guns quite that old (didn't have the $5000 asking price for the Schofield I saw today), but I have a couple guns that I'd wager are older than any members on this forum.Rod has a magnificent accumulation that meets the criteria. The 1903 Springfields, Swiss K-11s and some Mosins are older than any of us. While not the oldest member, (but close at 67) I have several rifles and two revolvers that are older than I am.

I have a non-functional rifle handed down from my great, great grandparents (~1904, I guess).
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Heh, Wednesday I, my son, and a friend fired some AMMO that's older than most on the forum except CU74...it was his age. 1943 .30-06, out of a 1941 Johnson rifle. Both worked flawlessly.Lokidude wrote:Well, my 1903 Colt was made in 1913. I dunno exact birth date on my 1891 Argentine, but it's about the same time frame.
