Thank you. I'd never heard of them before.

That was some kind of special right there. I wish they had made more full use of the backups though.

One of my favorites from the period.

Hayseed-dixie is one of those who grows on me like a fungus.

Honestly, I've never cared for bluegrass, nor "twangin' country" - and tend to get evil when someone butchers a classic from my younger-days.

The biggest sin in the history of music was when Run-DMC butchered "Walk This Way" and Aerosmith actually HELPED 'EM DO IT...

"Bohemian Rhapsody" was awesome, but I my blood-pressure shot up a bit when I saw they too had decided to butcher the same classic.

Imagine my surprise when I find it's actually even .awesomer, in fact arguably as good as the original...!

Seriously -- Check it out!.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Seriously - Try to imagine (if you can) that it's ~25 years ago.

1985

Some guy tells you "
You'll be sitting in your house, with this little TV/Typewriter-combo-looking-thing on your lap... Except it'll be a lot smaller - like under a pound...

Heck - it could even be on this little thing that'll fit in your pocket... Everybody has 'em.

YES I'm "SERIOUS".

No, I haven't been smoking anything -- would you stick with the program here?

You'll be sitting in your house, and some guy you've never met but consider a friend will ...

Huh?

Well, there's this... This whole...
network... No - not like TV, it's like...
How in the heck do you describe the Internet - much less a board like this, and TGC??!!

... to your 1985 self?

This has to be the point at which you'd start backing away, thinking "STEP AWAY FROM THE CRAZY-PERSON...

Mind-blowing how far we've come in the first place... but let's >>FF>> to the part where you have some comprehension of all the rest of it, and pick up with:
So this guy will send you a link to a video of a band called "Leningrad Cowboys" - who dress up like characters from Mad-Magazine comics - with the Red Army Choir...

Yes, THAT "Red Army"...

Singing backup as they all perform "Sweet Home Alabama" of all things!
Imagine - the world's big evil is now something to laugh about, and their men are begging for crumbs doing gigs like this, singing the praises of Capitalist-running-dog-redneck-heaven...

Wow.
