OTOH, as a hunting arm, that makes perfect sense, as the low weight and handly length make it perfectly fine for carrying through the woods for a few hours without regretting the choice.

Tradeoffs...
I have a LimbSaver recoil pad, mounted a Mercury tube and had the barrel Mag-na-ported and the .358 is still hefty but nowhere as bad as without the modifications...Now it shoots like a .308 and when I install the other Mercury tube and mount the muzzle brake it feels like shooting a .260 or so...It still handles very well and not as butt heavy as you’d think with the tubes pushed forward as far as possible…

What gets me is that the weight for all three models, in the same caliber, is the same…You would think that the pistol grip would weigh more the a straight grip and a take-down version would weigh the most because of the extra metal…Where weight decreases felt recoil you’d think that the takedown version would be the ideal version to obtain…granted they are fairly new…
There is a certain type of mentality that thinks if you make certain inanimate objects illegal their criminal misuse will disappear!

Allegedly, there is a picture of one somewhere on the web, but I can't find it.
Frank (Stilleto at the old site) did some sketches along those lines.
I worked on that with him, actually. I still have one or two of the sketches I did.

While I'm not enamoured with the idea, I suspect the balance would be awful, I will compliment you on a nicely rendered concept illustration.

That appears to be a Kalashnikov type mag that has to be "rocked" in from the front. With the lever in the way like that, you are going to have a devil of a time changing mags.

What, the new ones are all polymer and can't be seen in Airport X-rays?

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
