It wasn't his. I suspect he was just moving it from one pickup to another for the people who got it, or was simply raising it up so it could be photographed.

My wife's the same way whenever I mention rabbit. I imagine if I wanted to bring home a deer, it'd have to be all wrapped and packaged like grocery-store beef, then she wouldn't eat any of it. Hell, she's even hesitant about eating buffalo, and if she thinks about cows too much, she won't eat beef for a while.
My wife rather likes venison, as long as she doesn't realize that is what she is eating. Of course since a few years ago when the kids spilled the beans that she had been eating it for years, she gotten down right nosey about what kind of meat I am cooking.
Over the years I've noticed that people don't even consider stuff that I used to see in markets when I was a kid. You use to have a much wider selection of organ meats in the meat section for instance. The last time I looked it about the only organ meet I saw was beef liver. We've had such a good constant supply of food over the decades that we have a fussiness that would not be believed in the early part of the 20th century.
Countries that have undergone famine due to war or poverty are really unfussy for the most part.
I was reading about Korean mothers, esp. in the rural areas, that would chase down their kids and feed them even when they weren't hungry. One woman said when she was a kid she was about to drop off to sleep and she was woken up by her mom trying to stuff a spoonful of rice into her mouth. She said it was worse for the boys. Also anything and everything seemed to be made into a dish. One motive given for moving into large urban areas was to get away from the stuff you were forced to eat. Human nature being what it was after a few years you wanted the comfort of the crap food you were forced to eat as a kid.
I really really dread the idea of the current crop of US commies getting their hooks ever deeper into the agriculture industry.
I haven't seen it lately, but you used to be able to get a t-shirt that had a big-'ol gut-pile on it that used to say, "Please Mom, No Organ Meats!!!"
