CCW Attire for Phoenix

Post by Rumpshot »

Well, took possesion of my AZ CCW on Friday. Now working on my next issue. How to dress and accomplish CC.

I brought up this subject before, but did not accomplish my goal. I need to find the best way to dress for CC, in Phoenix, in the summer. My normal attire is levi's and a short sleeve sport or dress shirt tucked into the waist. Levi's and their pockets don't allow much room for my S&W Model 39-2. The shirt tucked in doesn't do much for OWB carry. OC is easy, and what I am mostly doing.

Would like to not have to acquire a new wardrobe.

Winter, both months, in Phoenix will not be a problem.

Help, once again.

A western style vest is probably your answer. If you don't want to untuck a shirt your options are limited. You can try an IVB with a tuckable clip like the Kholster, Crossbreed or .... shoot forgot the brand of the other one.

Pocket carry with a Desantis or similar is an option I favor in dress slacks and sometimes jeans.

You can pocket carry in jeans, but it's tricky. Maybe a small auto, IWB, or a J frame in that Miurage holster?

Jeans and tee shirt for me. I tuck my shirt in and then tuck my IWB rig in over that. I wear a loose fitting Hawaiian shirt over all that (unbuttoned). Works like a charm.

I've always had the best luck with a Hawaiian-style shirt over a tucked in t-shirt, with an OWB holster.

I've taken to wearing western style shirts with snap buttons lately. Have been thinking about trying one of these rigs from Kangaroo with my snub when I carry around the property.

Pocket carry and IWB isn't always the answer for me. This being SoCal I'm in swim trunks and t-shirt around home quite a bit so any rig requiring a belt is out.

I've used one of these for years with a Walther PPKs or Colt alloy Commander.

Works like a champ. Does everything the video says.
