Get that Reporter a Concealed-Carry Permit! [Kevin D. Williamson]
Bad press indeed:
Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty was confronted face-to-face Thursday with some of the district's crime problems, when it turned out the host of the morning talk show he appeared on had been mugged in the city an hour earlier.
MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski was mugged outside a well-known Washington hotel while waiting for a car to pick her up for the 6 a.m. broadcast of the show she co-hosts with Joe Scarborough, "Morning Joe."
As the show began, Mr. Scarborough blasted Washington without naming the hotel, saying he needed to talk about what had just happened to his co-host.
A recommendation: Next to her notebook and pen, Brzezinski should tuck a P32 into her purse. Not too big, but not puny. Just right.
Nice that she gets a car service to take her to work, though. But there's no place like DC to make you miss your concealed-carry permit.
Mugged Journalist
Re: Mugged Journalist
How could she get mugged...weapons are illegal in our nation's capitol. Did the alleged mugger just go up to the woman in question and say "gimme yo money" or did he brandish something a little more intimidating? More importantly though, how could such a thing happen in Washington. Muggings? Surely you jest. Washington is safe...the police see to that. Private citizens don't need any extra protection from bad people because there is such a thing as "POLICE". Handguns are just for criminals...regular people don't need such things as long as the crack police force is taking care of security. Oh brother!
In all seriousness though, I wonder if this "journalist" will now become a 2A crusader or just another victim who whines about more police protection.
