Going to post this here because I find it humorous.

Apparently they were able to pry the pages apart. What more do you want?

Quoted in full because of the #$^%&*&*&* autoplay:
Two Belgian university professors recently decided to submit the 10 most borrowed books at the Antwerp library to bacteriology and toxicology tests.

Traces of cocaine were found on all 10 books. The traces were small enough that readers would not feel the effects, but significant enough that they could test positive for cocaine.

But the real case of life imitating art was revealed when the scientists discovered traces of the herpes virus in the pages of the erotic tale Fifty Shades of Grey.

In order to prevent a public panic, professors assured readers that the concentrations of the herpes virus were minimal and that the virus could not be contracted simply by touching the book.

They also suggested that books are for reading.

Anything subject to public interaction can become hopelessly filthy in a relatively short time without regular cleaning and maintenance. Cash is incredibly filthy. I'm sure you've all seen public restrooms that... well... enough said.

Yeah, books too. I tend to use more 21st century cash and like 21st century books. It's hard to get a nasty bug that way.

As if reading Twilight for Retards wasn't bad enough to begin with.

Yeah, see, that's what you'd think... and then you read 50 Shades, and... well, it makes Twilight look well-written, thoughtful, with a fleshed-out protagonist and not at all unintentionally creepy.

I'm sure Stephanie Meyer is all broken up about her series not being on par with say, Citizen Kane - why, she must have a room in her mansion just for crying about it!
HTRN, I would tell you that you are an evil fucker, but you probably get that a lot ~ Netpackrat

That's just the thing... say what you want about Twilight (and there's plenty terrible about it), but it was original. E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey series is literally Twilight fanfiction with just enough details changed to publish it. It's one thing to get filthy rich off of one's own work. It's another to get even richer by taking someone else's work, jamming it up your ass, and crapping it onto a keyboard.

That's par for the course in the romance/porn genre.
