What a great bloke he was. I didn't like his anti-foxhunting views but I could forgive him that because he was right on most other things.
A mate of mine in the UK who has recently taken up astronomy is going to get my mint 1st edition copy of Moore's 1953 moon atlas for Christmas.

All my life I been in the dog house
I guess that just where I belong
That just the way the dice roll
Do my dog house song
I guess that just where I belong
That just the way the dice roll
Do my dog house song

Re: RIP Sir Patrick Moore
I met him when I was a nipper. I was a big fan then (I had read his youth science fiction), and remained it ever since. He did a great deal to inculcate a love of the sciences.
