There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

I've read the Ashes series but remember it's very dated. Pretty unrealistic also. That being said, it pokes fun at the politicians so it can't be all bad.
one can be a Democrat, or one can choose to be an American.
Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

Personally, my favorite author, I read probably 90% or more of his non-western books... They are fun to read IMO and his visions of what might happen in a societal collapse are not all that far fetched.

I started reading the "Ashes" series a couple of decades ago. Stopped somewhere around book 20. I didn't know that more had been published.
it's good reading as long as you take it with a good dash of salt. Social, economic, and political breakdown. Zombies, disease, power hungry politicians, religious zealots, and a group of heavily armed citizens who decide to carve out their own society. What's not to like.
I may have to go read it again and finish them all this time.

What is cool is that he would have fit right in here on the forum... I chatted with him on AIM several years ago, and he was just as cool as you would imagine. A real class act if you ask me.
I was personally saddened to hear of his death.
