Knoxville is a nice town, lived there for a while. I would suggest over towards Jefferson City. That way you are more or less out of the blast range for Oak Ridge. I have friends out that way and it's a good place to raise kids too.
was thinking south toward maryville...

maryville is not bad, but if you are at all concerned about Oak Ridge and trust me you should be. I would suggest someplace closer to the mountains in the east, preferably close enough to get behind them in 20 min or less. We had some close calls when I was there. I expect more if funding gets cut like BHO promises.

I had 20-30 vodka tonics. It didn't do anything to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.

I had a shot of Jack.

I caught a little of O'Reilly's radio show today. He thinks that the electorate went to Obama because they think he'll fix the economy. And in two years, the economy won't be fixed, so Repubs could gain back seats in the House and Senate.

I could be wrong, but we won't face a legislative threat to guns, at least not right away. Democrats can have long memories, and many of them will remember what happened to Congress in '94. Look for Obama to use agencies and the judiciary to complicate things. Open shooting on public land will be curtailed, if not eliminated. Expect BATFU to emphasize the FU.

My other prognostication right now is on the middle east. Iraq and the U.S. are working on getting us out by 2012. Even if the agreement isn't finished by the time he takes office, Obama would be a fool to back away from that. And we're already stepping up things in Afganistan, so no biggie if he increases troop levels and offenses there.

I do hope the remaining Repub Senators block any tax legislation.

Biden missed by a couple of zeros.

The worst part of all of this is going to be dealing with all the smug obama supporters tomorrow. I think I may have more disdain for them than for obama.
Reminds me of having to go to school the day after Bush/Quayle lost in '92. The smugness was insufferable.

As long as they don't figure out that I'm not smiling, I'm gritting my teeth, we'll be okay.
