You have to pick the right set. The ones with removable plastic handles is for kitchen use, and as HTRN said, you can swap to metal Le Creuset knobs. The ones with the cast in "loop" handle are better for outdoor/camping use and usually have feet on the bottom. You can use the ones with feet in an oven, you just have to put it on a cookie sheet to keep it level on the grates. The lids with cast in loops can also be used as a skillet over the campfire by flipping them over.

Uuuh, yeah. My favorite bread recipe for outdoor cooking is beer bread. The ingredients are easy to transport to the woods.

I considered buying a ceramic cabinet knob and replacing the plastic one, didn't realize you could buy a Le Creuset knob. Still, now we've got the "real" one, and it wasn't much more expensive than the Macy's one. Probably much better quality too.
