Why would I read a work of fiction other than for pleasure? Unless you are suggesting that reality would work out the same way things did in a story that is the product of one guy's mind?

The Food Saver attachment started a thought chain:
1. Put a Vac gauge on the Food Saver here at home, out of curiosity...

You can actually use one of these little pumps to vacuum seal mason jars if you have no power to run the food-saver attachment. Or if your afraid the zombies might hear the food-saver.

The water ones are especially useful as all they require is water presssure to work. The downside is they don't usually come with standard faucet threads, and they're fairly long.

I know where to easily find ones that fit standard faucet threads, unfortunately they produce very little vacuum. They're OK for moving liquid, but doubt you'd get enough suction to seal a jar. Anyone with a water bed probably has the drainage attachment laying around somewhere.

I made it half way through the show last night before I had to turn it off, the stupid was just too much.
