I love my CZ 452s, both are tack drivers. Then again, my 10/22s are fine guns as well. Why did you get rid of yours?

It needed some work I couldn't do and wasn't willing to pay for. The guy who bought it is a gunsmith.

I've heard good things about the Ruger American Rimfire. Having said that, if I were looking for a new bolt rimfire, I'd probably go with the Savage Mark II in one of their several variants.

I've got a couple of 10/22s (one of which is going to become a grandson's birthday present next month) and I really enjoy them. And The Boss has a Marlin 39 that is lots of fun to shoot, and damned accurate. The Savage Mk IIs can be had in several configurations, and every one that I have ever shot was far more accurate than I am.

Factory irons on the Savages that wear them are pretty crappy, but a good scope is not very expensive (the Simmons 22 Mag runs under $50 most places) and will let you impress yourself with what a damned fine shot you really are!

Forgot to mention because it you will have to shop it to get ut in your price, but S&W 15-22 is another good one if you want a semiauto thats fun to plink.

Get an old Remington Targetmaster. It's a bolt gun, box magazine. It's kind of boring, though, because it only makes one hole. ;)
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Here's another vote for the Savage Mk II. I've also shot a Browning Bl-22 which is a sweet shooter, too.
They should be in your price range, too.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
