My thought after watching the failure with the Springfield '03 was this: If I know I am going to be on a show that is a shooting competition, I would have trained with every firearm I could get my hands on BEFORE taping started.

I thought the young man, who is the long range shooter, came off as childish when he stated he was happy to be working with a "modern" rifle with a scope , not some WW1 rifle, in the elimination round. I guess the M14 or iron sights aren't modern enough for him.

Remember that the rifle in question is the WWI variant and as such has that 500ish yard battle sight. To do the kind of shooting that was needed for the show the shooter should have fliped up the ladder. I had a similar problem when using the battle sight on one of my Enfields.

Have the same issue with my Argi Mauser. Thankfully its battlesight is 250 meters, IIRC. Much more useful range.

Tonight's episode--where did Frank of the red team learn to hold a pistol? He had his thumbs pointing straight up, I thought at one time a thumb was riding on the slide. :? Less talk more monkey this time, which was good... the zipline was kinda silly, but looked like it could be fun.

The zipline definitely looked like a blast. Longbows will be an interesting gamechanger.

Well, the red team went first this time and all got to shoot. :P The elimination challenge looked like it'd be fun to try.
