You don't remember the "patterning for the hostage thought" thread??? It was pretty amusing... That the jackass ACTUALLY is a firearms instructor makes me far, far less likely to ever go to a class at the organization where he teaches...

Yeah, hostage shots with shotguns.... a bad idea any way you slice it.

Yeah, some of our local gaggle o' shooters-and-looters took my Mossberg 20 ga. (18-in. cylinder bore) and two boxes of Brand X #4 Buckshot to the range to try this hostage-shot thing. It did not end well.

IIRC, we tried 20 shots, at ranges from 5-15 yards, and only avoided perforating the "hostage" once or twice. To my feeble old mind, that's not a good enough percentage to be worthwhile.

Wait. Mr. Shotguns for Hostages is associated with Suarez. The same Suarez who wrote a long bit about how shotguns for hostages is a bad idea. WTF?

Well, they don't all agree obviously. Cope probably is the genesis of Gabe writing that piece...

Really? I don't remember him. As for the article, I stopped after the first paragraph. It boils down to "Waah, I carry a gun and I get treated like a leper, waah".

Really? You should have kept reading, I got: "I carry a gun and have had no issues".

Long and wordy, but his point is well taken. I know many people with whom I don't always agree. This one I think I'm on-board. The shotgun/hostage thesis; not so much.
