I dont know , we hunt dear in SE Ak each time we go out we see between 4 and 6 bears, active natural selection is always present, sliver slingers need a back up IMHO.

I read these sorts of posts with great interest, even though I live in a LARGE metropolitan area, with emphasis on millions of stupid people.
As I think NPR said once, in Alaska, any activity can become a bear hunt.

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.

"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

I was told by the ffl who sold me my 375 stainless that when they first came out 2 years prior, they were almost impossible to get ahold of until fairly recently (at the time). Apparently, they were going for over msrp up in alaska....

Nothing wrong with overkill for grizz.
I've got a .45/70 lever gun, too.

Re: Bear attack while bow hunting
.375 H&H vs .45-70 is the difference between a gun for hunting bear, and one for not getting et by a bear. When dealing with bears, range is your friend and one of those has it; the other not so much.
