as an amazon seller. I am only mandated to collect sales tax on items that sell through a nexus or sell in a state that I have a physical presence in.

If you buy from AMAZON itself, they collect sales tax. Otherwise you do not have to pay sales from people like me. I don't even charge it on sales in states I have a physical presence in. I just pay it myself as it amounts to WAY less than $100 a month and compliance would cost more.
