And how come on this forum, of all forums, "Statist" and "Statism" get the red underlining as words not recognized by the dictionary? Or is that somehow specific to my computer?

Most likely specific to your browser, though it does the same in mine. I find the spellcheck dictionary in Firefox to be slightly lacking. Firefox doesn't have it, but Chrome does.

I'm using Chrome here. It seems to find them objectionable, or at least unrecognized. I'll check Firefox when I get home.
