Sort of why I carried the max allowable supply of cherry life savers (2 packs IIRC) during survival school. One or two into a quart canteen to help cut the flavor of the water purification tabs.

For some odd reason whiskey was not on the approved supplies list.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

SERE instructors are bastards like that.

There is little on the planet more bland and annoying that the taste of holy water (defined, in Third World environs, as water that you've boiled the Hell out of).

Churchill's method would at least have the advantage of killing some of the stuff in the glass. If you've ever been in Asia and caught sight of them off in the back corner washing tableware -- in the water leftover from the table glasses...
