You guys are way over thinking this, simply lift the trunk hatch then bolt half a dozen two by tens to the frame through the trunk floor, and bolt the hitch to the two bys the two bys clear the lower lid and your all set , for distance hauling take a sawsall to the lower lid. So you can duct tape it closed .

It's chip seal. The Wal-Mart is about 15 years old, but the parking lot has been there for over 40. A couple of different shopping centers have lived on that space during that time.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.
