It's been a while since I last watched Heartbreak Ridge. But do I recall wrong that the story of Heartbreak Ridge happened in Korea? If I recall, Gunny Highway's friend tells the tale to the young Marine about how he and Highway and one other Marine were the ones that survived the battle, but the 3rd Marine died at Khe Sanh? in 1968.

In any case, only the other day I was surfing tv channels when I saw the Ellen Degeneris show and it had a bit about Eastwood on it. Apparently he's her next door neighbor. He was showing her some sample posters for a new movie he made (not the one on this thread). And I was thinking, man, he does look old. No more tough guy movies with Clint in them.

And now I see this, in which he looks both old and damned tough. Cool.

That trailer makes me think of the saying that there are plenty of tough guys who think they are bad. But bad and tough are not the same thing. And they don't learn that difference until they mess with someone who actually is a badass.

I'm definetely waiting to see this movie.

A few conversations were had in Heartbreak Ridge about how the old marines were 0-1-1. No wins, 1 tie, and one loss. A quick IMDB search reveals his two wars leading into the Grenada invasion were Korea and Vietnam.

I will also be seeing this one.

My mistake.
I dont think it's said in the movie, and I always assumed Heartbreak Ridge was in Vietnam, but I googled now and it's in the Korean war. Wikipedia has an entry.

You feelin' lucky? Well, do ya punk!!!!

Haven't had the desire to see any of the trash coming out of Hollywood recently, but this one might just change my mind.

He's showing a commendable lack of vanity, playing a character of that age. I'll be watching this for sure.

This is great. I shot a 44 magnum (Dirty Harry) today for the first time and now a new Clint movie. What a great day!

Oh. Hell, yes. That I'll see! And maybe on opening night, too...
