Hey! I still read the paper. I won't be 50 for, uh, a couple of months at least.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

The local paper has been delivered by car for at least the 15 years. Too much ground to cover otherwise. They may only do two houses on a block. Also, the paper is delivered early, before 7AM most mornings.

Is that the Advance? Used to come out in the afternoon, few of my friends had routes after school. Shows how long I've been away.

Hey, I'm not even 28 yet, and I have a serious love of reading a newspaper. The story may be better online, but there's just something about dead-tree editions that I prefer to read.

You mean you prefer not to take your computer into the head with you to read the news?

Doing the crossword on the computer just isn't the same, either.

A lot of it is habit. I lived with my grandmother for a few years, and reading the paper was part of our daily routine. It's something I haven't really been able to kick, no matter how crappy the paper itself is.

When teaching a child to read, a newspaper is indispensable to associate news with actual events, like city council meetings and movie schedules. Just be sure to also teach how to tell fact from fiction.

I still get greater pleasure reading a good dead tree book, than I do reading the same story on a computer screen. There is just something about turning a page. 8-)

Yup. I only get the paper twice a week now - used to only get it on Sunday for the ads, but they started offering a 2 day a week deal instead.

Sunday paper is early - I've gone down at 9AM and it's in the box(which of course, is illegal  ) I think the Thursday still comes around 3 or 4pm.

What's happened is to maintain the same number of suscribers that a given deliverer delivers to, they've consolidated "territories", so a car has become all but mandatory. Believe it or not, most of the ones that seem to now do it are housewives, as an easy second income(they're out of the house while the kids are still at school, and only do it for an hour or two a day).
