I'm thinking about a Hakim, because it a) will commemorate my "vacation" to the Middle East, and b) it's scary enough to make the libtards poop their pants.

PS, what the heck is up with Hakim prices now? Where did the $300 Hakims go? Oh, and Hakim means various things in Arabic, such as judge, arbiter, or wise man.
Me too!, In fact, It's on its WAY!! (See my topic on on-line layaways). As for you question, I bought them! Yes, I have another Hakim. I got about a year ago, at just over $200, but it was incomplete, and I have been busy all year trying to get missing parts. The guy in New Jersey, that was selling Hakims with missing parts, HAS RUN OUT. Actually, besides buying another Hakim that already has a converted 25 round magazine, I wanted a complete rifle to fabricate a new handguard. I tried converting one from a more readily available Ljungman handguard, but they are just too different. Besides the cheap 8mm, I think a Hakim is more robust than other 8mm semiautomatic rifles. An FN-49 would be even more of a headache to clean with corrosive ammunition, and is WAY more expensive.

Anyway, before I unwittingly hijack the topic, my "next, next gun", will probably be a milled receiver MAK-90 I found. Not really on my list, but too cheap to pass up. I also have a Rasheed on on-line layaway, so it will be my next x 3, rifle. Even if Barry is elected, it will probably be possible to get a couple in between November and early spring when Barry would get his first chance to ban something. Consequently, I am also considering some "soon to be introduced" Saiga-12 receivers. With a receiver in hand, you would be immune to a shotgun reclassification, that would effectively end the sales of Saiga 12's.

Seeing as I just had a business steal $6000 from me, my next (responsible) gun purchase may be a while away.

HOWEVER, it looks like I might have a buyer for part of my business and I might be able to liberate a few sheckles for an EBR. I am thinking AK to match the yugo SKS I bought this year. Ammo commonality (and I already have 1000+ rounds).

I am actually trying to decide if I should go the AK route (irresponsible) or the Progressive reloading set up and appropriate components (less irresponsible) route. Not buying anything gun related (most responsible route) is highly unlikely. :D

Does anyone know anything about the Galils from J&G Sales? I like the look of one of them.

I believe they're Century builds. I saw the listing for them at J&G, $600's a good price (but considering it's a Century, is it a crapshoot?); the local place with them was asking $850, IIRC. I'd wonder about magazine availability down the road.

Ahh.

I think that's all I need to know.

Either a Bushmaster ACR (Magpul Masada design) or a FN SCAR 17, whichever one I see first at the next ELGS.

I saw both at the SHOT show earlier this year. Both companies said they would be shipping by late 2008 or early 2009. I mentioned to both that given the current political climate (obamanation time?) they should consider accelerating their production schedule if they want to actually sell any. Both representatives agreed, but it was out of their control.

Looking to get a HK 91 (or clone.) I'm a huge fan of the modern battle rifle and since I already have a FAL and I can't justify the money for a M1A for now (because I already have a M1 Garand) that pretty much leaves me with HK. Yes I realize there are others, and to some (JAG, I'm talking to you) think it is hideously ugly but I have always appreciated it and thought it a very beautiful weapon (in the it makes a liberal sh@t their pants kind of way.) :D

Others on the list include:
Hakim
SVT-40
K-31
1903...
well I should probably stop or (like many of you) this list will never end.

JAG: So why do you need armor piercing ammo?
tcourtplayer: Zombies
JAG: For when they hide behind engine blocks?
tcourtplayer: Just because the movies say they will be dumb and slow doesn't make it true.
JAG: WOW!!!
