Thanks Felix. I thought that it was something like that, but I couldn't remember the wording.

I am called GroundPounder.
I am a graphic designer by education, and have served in both the enlisted and comissioned ranks of the Army. Still in, as a matter of fact.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, .005mm art pens (see also: my avatar; which I pepretrated) and blowing things to pieces with a MK-19.
I am the resident "gun guru" in most of the groups I hang out with. Cthulhu knows how that happened....

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Greetings
I am an avid shooter into IDPA and hunting but currently restricted by ammo prices and lack of work for my company. I am married to same woman for 23 years and we have 5 children: 21 yo son who is a newly wed, 19 yo son who is just finishing his AIT as a 25-u in Army at Fort Gordon, 17 yo son, 13 yo son and 11yo daughter at home. !9 yo and 13 yo shoot IDPA with me.
I program computers to read data from legacy hardware (old tape drives, optical disk etc), extract documents from archival systems (OnDemand, Mobius, CA View etc) and convert for entry into new systems. I have written or maintained software for lots of different industries.
I have am a member of TFL and a plank member of THR but have restricted my Gun Forum posting/reading to TXCHLForum for last year or so.
Jeremae is the Latin spelling of my name.
My signature comes from the fact that as far as I can tell, I wrote a post on THR where I translated Col Coopers 4 rules into Ash (from evil dead movies) and that is where the saying comes from.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Jim here. Glad to find this place after the sudden shutdown on the other site. I was a bit worried about having to finish out my deployment without this group of ne'er-do-wells to keep me straight. Many thanks to the horsemen for setting this site up.
So about me. I was an AF Ops-Research (61S) scientist type for just shy of 6 years when I saw the power of the dark side and switched over to the Army. Currently deployed on a MiTT team in Iraq, I'm trying to figure out who first said that the IA (Iraqi Army) does Humint better than we do, and get a bunch of whatever he was smoking. I like guns, and am a decent shot (better than the average joe, still can't hold a candle to some of the guys around here), but am an absolute NUT when it comes to motorcycles. Sang in an acapella group in college, and picked up a guitar to learn in my spare time here. SWMBO, her dog, two cats, and my Ridgeback are awaiting my return in the states.

Here I am!
Originally from Valdosta, Georgia. I've lived in Atlanta for 7 years. First at Georgia Tech for a business degree and then at Emory for my law degree. In between I've had a couple random jobs: auto service, school teacher, gun rights activist, academic researcher, etc.
Now, thankfully, I'm moving to New Orleans to start being a lawyer.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Hi,
Lurked on the Gun Thing for a long time, learned a lot, and posted very little. I will try contribute more here. Army vet, Auburn alumni (hence the wareagle) and I've worked in the oilfield service sector for 28 years.
I like most things that go bang. Some favorites include FALs, ARs, and Garands. Have a few tupperware handguns, but I do worship at the altar of JMB.
My thanks to Chris and the others who organized this site.

So here I am. As the Lectroids might say, "So what? Big deal!"

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Heeeere I come to save the daaaaay...waitaminnit...
...sorry, wrong script.
I'm Ken, a marketing product manager and doctoral student in marketing (last class this fall, then time to study for comps). Married (Mrs. NotMiddleAged veers between patience and despair, but I paint a room or cook a meal now and then to keep her happy). Two sons, best ever.
I got into shooting when I found a Remington 510 and a Davenport 12-gauge single in the attic of a house I bought in late 1991. The Davenport is a wall-hanger, but I use the 510 regularly. I got into gun rights when I read about the attempted SKS confiscations in California and realized NRA had been right about the slippery slope. Now you'd have to class me with the "SNBIs," I reckon, as a long-term objective if nothing else. Might as well be hanged for a sheep as for a lamb. Politically I've evolved from a social-democrat back in my college days (although it was a weird Scoop Jackson kind of social democrat--I was a John Glenn volunteer in '84) to a Lockean fusionist now.
Apart from shooting, I like fishing, sailing, miniature wargaming, computer and board gaming, tending my apple tree and raspberry patch (also baking apple-raspberry pies), music (bass and guitar), and casual biking/hiking/kayaking. Used to fence, hope to get back to it some day. Not a great shot, but getting better.
