Obscure 60-year-old revolver question

Well, 60ish. I don't have any specific dates, but my grandma carried an old .22LR revolver for shooting rattlers, back when she was a trail guide in Eastern Oregon. It was a brand called S&R Arms, according to what was written on the barrel. I haven't been able to find anything on Google about the manufacturer, and I was hoping someone here might be more knowledgeable/have better Google-foo than myself.

Unfortunately, my grandma died about 8 years ago, and my grandpa died 4 years ago, so the first, last, and only time I saw the revolver was when we were cleaning out the house back in the summer of '04. I think my uncle still has it, but I don't know for sure. In any event, I can't give you many more details than what's above, because I simply don't know.

I just started thinking about it again recently, and I realized I'd never asked you guys if you knew.

Could it be a store brand? Is there any other marking at all on it, maybe a model number? Maybe a photo would be of help.

I'm guessing it is a store brand, but I don't have the revolver with me. It turns out my uncle has it, and I'm going to be checking with him in the near future. I'll get pictures when I can.

Sears & Roebuck maybe?

That might be H&R, as in Harrington and Richardson. They made lots of inexpensive 22 caliber revolvers in before and between WWI and WWII.

No, I know it's not H&R. I'd known about H&R back then, so I was confused when I saw it actually had said S&R. However, the Sears Roebuck idea might be a good place to start. I'll try to get pictures by next weekend; it turns out my other uncle is storing it, so I'll see what I can do.

I'm not sayng that S&R isn't Sears & Roebuck. It is entirely possible that it is, but, most of their guns were sold under the names J.C. Higgins and Ted Williams. I checked the arcane book of armaments with yellowed and flaky pages and found no S&R. It just lists Sears as the seller of certain models.

Sears didn't make their guns. Winchester, Mossberg, Savage, and Marlin made the bulk of them. Kind of like the W suffix on serial numbers that denotes "sold by Wally World".
