OK, I know next to nothing about Crenshaw. Somebody tell me about him. The rest of the people I have never heard of. So, is this just another cute campaign ad?

Crenshaw ruffled a lot of conservative feathers when he said that he thinks red flag laws should be discussed. He did not give a blanket endorsement of them. But he does not dismiss them completely, either.
Yes, it's a "cute" campaign ad. What's different is that is a joint political ad; six GOP candidates from Texas, running for Congress in various Texas districts, coming together to make one campaign ad. I think it's a pretty cool ad, too. Best one I've seen in a long long time.

I have a definite problem with Crenshaw's flirting (at minimum) with Red Flag laws. After being mad for a while, I decided he's got potential if he'll put the trident down long enough to think it through and figure out he's on the wrong side of this one.

Agreed.
There is no perfect candidate to represent conservative/classic liberal values .........although Ted Cruz does a damn fine job of trying.
