A search for my first and last name comes up with lots of people who are obviously not me.

Plug in my middle name and some quotes and suddenly I do not exist. I always liked that, but I wonder how long until NOT being found on the internet comes off as something being wrong with you.

I think there are two other people in the entire world with the same first and last name as mine. One in Israel and one in Nebraska, they are both much more successful than I and I wouldn't mind being confused with either.

Yeah, I told my wife that according to the Internet and Google, I am the vice president of some successful company. I thought about calling them up and asking for myself and introduce myself to myself.

On a tangent that's actually related, it might be a good idea to run a search on yourself on an internet search engine to see what turns up so you can be prepared to answer and awkward questions. I just did it on myself, and the only reason that I actually found any information about the real me was because I used some Boolean operators to find the information. The only pieces of information that I found that actually refer to me are not things I wouldn't want people to find out and they're fairly old.

According to Google, I'm a professional motocross rider from New York. If you dig far enough, you find me in high school but nothing more recent, and you have to dig pretty deep to get that much on me.

The many versions of me include a couple musicians, a university professor, and an investment adviser.

The adviser even has the same middle initial.

hnnn, first page of google. haven't played that game in a while. Wonder what would pop up if a potential employer googled me.

got me in "Linked in" and a couple of those professional networking type sites. A bit creepy. Not sure how I got on at least one of them.
