Yeah, my first paper route collection fall of 8th grade paid for mine. Still have it. Took my first deer with it the next fall (#4 buckshot).I bought my first one when I was about 12 with my saved up mowing lawn money.

At any time a colection can go in a different direction.
This rifle fits into two of my collections, US rifles and Remington rifles.
I have not taken apart the rifle for cleaning yet, that may have to wait with all the other things I have going on right now. But i did take a closer look after work today.
The front sight is Remington marked.
Front band/bayonet lug is Remington marked.
The follower is Remington marked.
The bolt is Remington marked.
The rear band is unmarked.
Floor plate is unmarked.
Trigger guard is unmarked.
The butt plate is unmarked.
Other then the small spot on the nose of the stock, it is unmarked.

I only have so much time to shoot and so much space in the safe, especially thanks to Dad giving me the majority of his firearms. So at some point I will have to say "done." Getting a Springfield, an M1 Carbine and a Beretta Tomcat will pretty much take care of it.

How, after all the photos you've posted over the years, can you have only three safes? Are they much bigger on the inside than on the outside?
I always imagined you had some extensive underground bunker (like the place they stored Dr. Zola in Captain America II) with big knife switches that boomed and echoed as you turned on the acres of overhead lighting. Miles of racks, sorted by caliber, by year and country of manufacture, and by manufacturer. Powerful dehumidifiers thrumming in the background.
Don't disappoint my fantasy!
ETA: And don't tell us how many you have. I want to imagine rows of them fading into the murky distance.
