Word search shows nothing in this article about the G33, so is this in response to what I am saying?CombatController wrote:http://www.dw.de/heckler-koch-g36-the-r ... a-18402772Vonz90 wrote:I meant to reply to this before, but I've never heard concerns with the HK93/G33 for reliability. If G36 issue is accuracy, that's an easier fix than reliability. Sounds like the Germans made a good choice if they got a reliable, low cost 5.56 NATO launcher.
The G33 action is basically half way between the G3 and the MP5, both of with I have experience with and are very reliable, so it does not seem likely to me that the G33 would have problems.
Straight from the Pferde's mouth.
For the record (as in, I said a few posts ago on this thread) - I'm not a fan of the G36 at all. It was built around a price tag with all of the compromises that entails. I have not fired one but I did handle it a few times in A'stan and it seems very flimsy. The Germans who had them did not say anything positive about them either.
My comment was on the original G3/G33/MP5 family which I found to be quite good. To repeat, I think the Germans should have stuck with their original plans and gone with the G41.
