Ayup.

I'm thinking "Shouldn't this go in the Kitchen Table or Humor?" and then I realize it's about guys keeping loaded guns next to their brainpans.

That's gonna get really, really loud if he gets nervous.

First thought, hey I'm freaking deaf.
Second thought, bunch of idiots trying to be high speed, low drag.
Three, just because you're a cop, doesn't mean you have a clue about weapons handling.
Four, somebody finally brought the 'half-Sabrina' and 'full-Sabrina' positions into modern firearms handling.

Equal time for opposing (to the commentariat) view:

I've met Chris IRL, he's a former Marine, current Army reservist, multi-tour OIF/OEF vet, and 20-year patrol cop in Unnamed Large City in Texas.
He's the real deal, and not a fruitcake.

Money quote from the O.P.:
It’s a valid technique, and despite much fuss it’s here to stay, particularly since it’s been in use by some accounts since the early 70’s, has survived countless real-world uses without failing to prove its usefulness and has only recently gained widespread attention thanks to the internet. There is nothing unsafe about Temple Index by its necessity, only by using it out of context when other options would prove safer based on the situation. If those other options don’t exist or are not as prudent, Temple Index, when performed correctly, allows the shooter to maintain full awareness and move as safe as the situation will allow until the muzzle can be redirected.

You know, I think the "Full Sabrina" and the Half Sabrina" were based on target shooting before Colonel Cooper, and by carrying the pistol near her face, [strike]Jaclyn Smith[/strike] Kate Jackson could be assured of a closeup, and because it ensured that people would see a capable and powerful woman not afraid of firearms and able to vanquish male chauvinist pigs.

Down is towards the hull of boats and ships, too. :)
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

1) The pic is Cheryl Ladd; and nobody watching that show was looking at the guns, not even the editors of Guns & Ammo
2) Anywhere below the main deck, or inside, up and sideways are toward the hull too ;)
