And to think, the people that voted for this thought the porn industry didn't know when to pull out.As the film community battles to keep Hollywood close to home, another local industry – adult entertainment -- is fleeing Los Angeles.
The number of permits issued for adult productions has plummeted since November 2012, when voters approved a measure that requires performers to wear condoms on sets.
Last year, 40 permits were issued for X-rated productions in the city and county, down about 90% from the estimated number of permits issued in 2012. And through July of this year, only 20 permits have been issued for adult productions.
I'm astonished they didn't see this result cumming. Now they're complaining because this has become a financial hot mess.
And best of all, it was passed by the very people that their industry adheres to like sticky sheets; if conservatives had done this, they'd have hollered "Rape!"
But for residents there who don't mind that it's no longer the San Pornando Valley, there's a happy ending: what goes to Vegas, stays in Vegas.
