Do not relish to feel what the men that used these weapons felt when they saw the elephant. For the elephant has tusk and to see him is to have his tusk dig deep into your soul. You will always have a part of you that will be cold and empty.

That's easy for an old blogger like myself.

That's me hunkered down over a Savage 10 in .308 Winchester, a rifle I"ve dubbed The Ugly Rifle. You can read the story of the rifle at the link, but when I got it, it was the most gawd-awful ugly I'd ever seen.

Image
The stock didn't fit the action, and I don't mean just a sloppy bedding job. It didn't fit at all, because the Ugly is a centerfeed Savage and the stock was built for at staggerfeed. So, I morphed it into a Model 10 FN (Hunter Model). It's a great shooter, even with that tupperware stock, putting three Hornady 168s into under an inch at 100 yards.

Dude! Get a better radio carrier than that. It looks like you're about to lose that thing.

Nice action photo--cartridge case in mid-air!
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

From a few years ago. Here I am shooting the General Guisan.
The next time I get out to the range I'm going to have some pictures made.

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
