AKA he learned about flying from that....

This dude done used up all his luck for a while....

A high time pilot on another group I'm a member of, once commented on having been in situations, staring at the trees off the end of the runway, where he would gladly fill your hands with $100 bills, in exchange for just another 20 horsepower. Looks like the aircraft is intact other than maybe the seat cushion; I wonder if they can get it down without doing more damage.

Yeah, that guy's gonna walk funny until the medicos get that cushion out of his sphincter, and then it won't be usable again.
I'd pay money to see the photo of his fingerprints pressed right into the control wheel/stick.

I've seen something like this done before. It didn't end well. Guy turned himself into a crispy critter.

From the NTSB Factual Report
The airplane had originally departed from the Hammond Municipal Airport at 1000. According to airport
personnel, shortly after takeoff, due to a loss of engine power, the pilot executed a forced landing
to a pasture, located approximately 1/4 mile north of runway 36. He then walked back to the airport
manager's office and inquired who the owner of the field was in order to obtain a key for the pasture
gate. In addition, the pilot stated that he "thought he had a fuel problem." Approximately 1045, a
witness reported seeing the pilot pushing the airplane to the south end of the pasture. The pilot
proceeded to start the engine, and the airplane took off from the pasture. Shortly after takeoff, the
airplane turned to the left and the engine lost power again. The airplane "wobbled", rolled inverted,
and impacted trees and the ground.

Reminds me of the pilot who got stuck in power lines at Boeing Field.

Taylorcraft. Generally low powered, and notorious for being susceptible to wind effects. As I understand it, Taylor designed the Cub, and then after he broke with Piper, he designed the Taylorcraft to outperform the Cub while using the same engines. There being no free lunch, they weighed about the same but the T-crate had more wing area and less drag.
