Llama memories

Post by blackeagle603 »

What are you'r recollections about Llama? I remember them well enough but had no close association.

This one is beaconing me as a late BAG day possibility (i missed out on the Colt Agent)
Llama – Especial 1911, 45ACP.

My Dad had one that I got to shoot a few times. I didn't experience any malfunctions with it that I remember and I never heard him speak ill of it. He ended up bi-polar and with Parkinsons, we suspect from three tours in Nam, so the gun was eventually sold before I had a chance to lay claim to it. I wish I could have gotten it before it was too late.

IIRC, (and please bear in mind that my memory is about as short as .... never mind.) the Llamas were not 1911s but were designed to LOOK like 1911s. Not sure, but a check of http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ should offer enough schematic data to show you what will interchange (if anything) and what won't.

My experience is they are cheap and not very reliable.

So Ogden Nash was correct. They ARE beasts.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
