Re: MHI Challenge coins
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Re: MHI Challenge coins
Can somebody please explain to me how that works? I don't give a shit about the challenge coins, why isn't there a "buy" link for the lighter? That's all I want.

The site says that a $45 (including shipping) bump to your donation would get you the lighter. The minimum donation is $1, so I would guess that $46 would get you there.

That's a fucktarded method of marketing a product. What if I want to buy more than one?

He said in the comments on his blog that there probably won't be much available for purchase outside the thing they are running now. So whether or not it is meant to be used that way, this is their primary marketing effort.

New coins added from outside the MHI universe:
Dead Six and Swords of Exodus challenge coins
Not included in the earlier coin batch tiers because some compensation will be going to the artist and Dead Six co-author.
PUFF exemption was also unlocked...

Thank you for posting that. I'd seen it earlier but they didn't appear to have the lighters available at that time, but now they are.

Re: MHI Challenge coins
This reminds me of the scene in Band of Brothers where Captain Winter is talking to Lieutenant Compton in the jeep about not ever being in a position to take from the men. To allude to General Patton, this is the less common and more important direction for loyalty to flow.PawPaw wrote:"That's exactly what I'm talking about, sir." he replied. "You put the troops first, and you're the best officer in this outfit. And, you're the only one who hasn't asked for a challenge coin. Screw those other sonsofbitches.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Re: MHI Challenge coins
I will no doubt get flamed for this, but I think I have been more than patient. It would appear that Larry (or more likely, whoever is running this for him) has ripped me off, and I still do not have my lighter. The other one was given to the person I bought it as a gift for. I sent the last email on April 4, and to date have received no further reply, or lighter.
Any update on this?

For some reason the quantities on the spreadsheet went crazy on me. I'll get the other one out to you this Friday.
Sorry about that!
