Can't wait for the next books. Got the Happy/Gotta-Potty Dance going.
Everyone should read 'Tuloriad'. There was nothing surprising about this development. ;) But I have to admit, I've been really waiting to see it.
Well, yeah, the Posleen getting Jehovah was to be expected from the Tuloriad, but the whole "Space Avengers" thing...
Ringo was hinting broadly about a T-1000 style "Memetic Polyalloy" liquid metal ACS for the God Kings. That's just freaking fantastic. I mean really, a Posleen God-King with an even more advanced ACS... the combat ability is...well, impressive.
I think it might be best to use a spoiler tag.
In Tuloriad you don't just see them choose Catholicism - and they chose it pragmatically, because of its ability to inspire warriors - you get some background into the Posleen past. Being defenders of civilization is what they were born for, what they've wanted for themselves since the Aldenata found them- the Aldenata just screwed that up, in several different ways. This is a dream scenario for them.

That metal - it has unexpected properties. It was a gift from the Himmit. ISTR reading somewhere that one of its effects is resistance to sohon. Which will be very useful. Human ACS would not do so well with Imeg around, which the boarding action in 'Eye of the Storm' strongly suggests.
Wikipedia (I know...) lists the line as:
Posleen War—Central Storyline

A Hymn Before Battle (2000) (ISBN 0-671-31941-8)
Gust Front (2001) (ISBN 0-671-31976-0)
When the Devil Dances (2002) (ISBN 0-7434-3540-0)
Hell's Faire (2003) (ISBN 0-7434-3604-0)

Hedren War

Eye of the Storm (2009); (ISBN 1-4391-32739)

Posleen War Sidestories

Watch on the Rhine (2005) (with Tom Kratman; ISBN 0-7434-9918-2)
Yellow Eyes (2007) (with Tom Kratman; ISBN 1-4165-2103-8)
The Tuloriad (2009) (with Tom Kratman; ISBN 978-1-4391-3304-0)sample chapters
Eye of the storm is later than Watch on the Rhine chronologically, but listed first. I've read the first four. Do I read Eye of the Storm or Watch on the Rhine first? I have to admit that Kratman's involvement inclines me to Watch on the Rhine.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Read Yellow Eyes and Watch on the Rhein first.

Yellow Eyes has some important plot points that you may miss and it will help fill in some gaps.

Read 'Eye of the Storm' last is the most important thing.

No the one in Rome. The Church is truly Catholic. ;)

+1
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

The Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. If the shoes of the fisherman fit, what matter that the feet filling them have scales? ;)

Damn John Ringo, anyway. Watch on the Rhine kept me up until 2 AM. I'm not done yet.
