There are no indestructible watches, though I've heard the G-Shocks come close. Having said that, I wear a Bremont ALT-1Z as a daily wearer, and have been very satisfied with its durability.

When it comes to high-end watches, you'll often pay a premium for brand reputation. Rolex makes a fine watch, but it's for poseurs. Tag Heuer and (sadly) Breitling have gone the same way. IWC is still outstanding - I wore a Fliegerchronograph for a decade, and the only reason I got the Bremont is that they did a run for the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School. At a significant discount.

Big fan of Invicta and Swiss Army, here.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

I got an Invicta [something or other] Diver. About two weeks later, I took my hand out of my pocket and the crown came off. $20 repair. I still like it, but I need to get a decade on it before I decide it's invincible in English as well as in Latin.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

IWCs are good watches - just be sure to buy them used - they take a huge hit, at least, they used to.

High-end watches are like furniture. The "retail price" is inflated 50% so the seller can hold a 1/3rd off "sale".

Yup. I qualify for Mensa, went to an organizational meeting in the local area, and was underwhelmed by the other members. They struck me as want-to-be geniuses, not the real deal.

Swiss Army... I bought one of those when I was between Luminoxes. I was literally better off with no watch, because that would force me to pull out my cell phone, which at least had accurate time. The Swiss Army watch doesn't have a locking crown, so the crown would come out, stopping the watch. Just from dragging across the skin of my wrist as I moved. It now keeps perfect time in the cabinet where I shoved it.

Odd, I've been wearing mine daily for a few years now and have had zero problems. I'm on my third strap and probably third battery. The only problem I had with it was a result of the store where my wife bought it, that advertised free lifetime battery replacement. Didn't tell you they'd (apparently) replace it with a battery taken from another watch that came in for replacement. Then insist it needed to be "repaired". In my case though it was still under warranty, so it went back to Swiss Army than they determined it needed a new battery and replaced it.
