IIRC, it was posted to his blog and also discussed in the forum. It was less like what we think of as traditional arranged marriage (or an attempt at it), and more like posting a want ad. I seem to recall that they actually did have a couple of members at least interested.

Imagine, for a minute, having Connie as a mother in law?

Even better...living in their house was part of the deal. All that 24-7!

Earlier I talked about Kim's behaviors being appropriate to a certain class, and you responded that he was a bit snobby... Sure, but I had some very specific things in mind.

One is Kim's (and he doesn't seem to be alone in this one) approach to finances. Very aristocratic there. Living beyond your means isn't a flaw to be avoided, it's a mandatory requirement of life, practically a virtue. Because enlightened dignity requires the maintenance of certain standards including lifestyle, and hey it's only money.

You do *not* want to be the son-in-law of indebted aristocrats with a requirement to be supported in the manner to which they have grown accustomed (because it is the only way to live that is worthy).

Just to clarify, I meant all the drama of the social situation with no escape. Yeah, little doubt the SIL would be expected by all parties to subsidize their upkeep, especially in later years.
