10 Most "American" Cars

Post by blackeagle603 »

passing this along, might be of interest in a Cliff Claven "it's a little known fact" sort of way.

I didn't ever realize Chevy/GM was still making a full size van. Not that I'd spend a dime on Government Union Crony Motors.

Huh! The Ford F-series wasn't even listed on the NHTSA listing, where the Chevy Silverado was listed at 40% North American. I wonder if the F-series was an oversight, or if it isn't made in North America at all anymore?

It's made in Louisville. So is the Explorer.

If eat Thai food in Thailand, get on a plane, and then leave it behind in a porcelain bowl in Honolulu, it would be about as "American" as most of what's on that list. And in many instances, indistinguishable from the products on said list.

I'm not sure whether they were trying to prove American cars still suck, or if they're trying to demonstrate there are really no such things as American cars.

The F-series has huge % content from outside the US. In particular from Mee-hee-co.

Gosh, that almost makes me shed a tear for the poor UAW and...

Sorry, it took a few minutes to catch my breath while I waited for the laughter to subside.
But I'm sure all the Government Motors mechanical marvels are pure Detroit iron and innards.
