The idea behind my exercise is to create a platform for a new political party. You may debate the merits or flaws of anyone's plank, but you may only submit one plank.
I'll kick it off.
1. Eliminate compulsory Charity - Charity is the right and responsibility of the individual. Government may not provide charity for any individual, group, nation or entity. Charity must come from individuals voluntarily.

Intellectual excercise - Create the platform for a new party
If you are unwilling to give another man freedom in his life, do not expect to have it in your own.
It surely beats trying to figure out what the metrosexuals want ( a good hard kick in the nuts in my opinion, but that won't sell ice cream :D )- Highspeed

Single objective legislation. No more hidden amendments, riders, pork, etc. Too many laws have been passed because they were attached to "must pass" bills, or snuck through as 11th hour riders and amendments without any type of public debate unless it was caught by some watchdog group.

Get rid of the Executive Order. No president shall make law by fiat.
one can be a Democrat, or one can choose to be an American.

All government business shall be conducted on the second floor level or above with unguarded windows.
Actually I don't know why we would need to create a new party. Why not just re-take control of the Republican party and kick the Rino's out. Let them create the new party.

Reratify the Constitution and Bill of Rights/the first ten amendments, and toss the rest. Carve it in stone with great big letters and put in front of the Capitol. Throw out universal suffrage, only net taxpayers get to vote. Bills are single subject only, no riders, no earmarks. Give the president the line item veto. Eliminate the department of education and most of the rest of government bureaucracy. Rename the defense department the war department. Teach old fashioned civics and unPC American History in school. Line up all teachers and professors, then take every tenth one and decimate them in front of the others. Keep big pots of tar on bonfires and semi loads of feathers parked in prominent locations in DC and each state capital and county seat, and use it often. Bring back public hanging. Require each household to own a firearm and be trained in its use.

Forbid any contributions from people w. dual, or foreign citizenship, or contributions from organizations controlled by foreign citizens. (Anti-Soros provision.)
Contribution limits to an individual candidate are the same as the limit to a party.
Eliminate corp. taxes. Eliminate the death tax. Gut...
You know, this could get entirely too large quickly... Perhaps it could be it's own heading under the forum, w. each suggested major clause another thread?

It's okay if it gets big, It is one way that people get exposed to new concepts, as well as the reasoning behind them.
If you are unwilling to give another man freedom in his life, do not expect to have it in your own.

Darrell you were doing well till you got to the last part about the guns. No good ever comes from forcing someone to do something like that.

Contribution limits to an individual candidate are the same as the limit to a party.
Since we're going to go this way, I'll put the explanation here.
Currently, the big donors give their money to the party, but cannot give it to the candidate -- according to SCOTUS this serves the important purpose of reducing the appearance of corruption...
The problem is the big donors, such as Soros, Murdoch, etc still get what they want, perhaps even more so, because it concentrates power in the party.
This is one of the reasons why you cannot just walk up and, realistically, put your name in as a candidate for congressman, etc. You won't be able to tap into the big donors, unless the party decides to support you, and that only happens after you've been selected for the job by the party. You can, however, spend as much of your own money as you like.
It's also why a congressman has to go along w. the party, even if he doesn't want to, because the party will pull all his campaign funds.
The filings, etc, and the heavy fines they carry, is another barricade -- it's another GOP/DEM protection scheme -- they can pay the fines w.o. a problem, and have enough lawyers to do the paperwork, but the third party/unsupported candidates cannot.
Ideally, I'd like to see campaigns be based on a few, publicly funded debates, and issue statements -- maybe w. a ban on "Vote candidate X" advertisements. Instead, allow private groups to run all the ads they want on issues, but (in my fairytale world) they have to be completely independent of the campaign.
